Funaoka Castle Ruins Park

Funaoka Castle Ruins Park stands on the former residence of the Shibata clan, who lived here until the Meiji Restoration. It is the only site in Miyagi Prefecture selected as one of the Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan.
While the park is famous for its spring cherry blossoms, it offers beautiful scenery year-round: hydrangeas in summer, red spider lilies and chrysanthemums in autumn, and dazzling illuminations in winter. There is always something to enjoy in every season.
